Temples: The 12 Jyotirlingas

🔱 The 12 Jyotirlingas – Pillars of Light, Power, and Liberation

🕉️ What are Jyotirlingas?

The word Jyotirlinga (Sanskrit: ज्योतिर्लिङ्ग) means “pillar of light” — it signifies the places where Lord Shiva manifested as an infinite column of radiance, unbound by form. These are not just temples; they are cosmic lighthouses where the veil between time and timelessness is thin.

As described in the Shiva Purana, there are 64 Jyotirlingas, but 12 are considered the most sacred, forming a divine pilgrimage circuit for seekers of moksha.
